About Clark Montgomery

Originally hailing from Texas, since 1999 Clark has been living and competing on the eastern seaboard of the United States and abroad in England and Europe.

He has been fortunate enough to train with numerous top riders and coaches over the years.  Most recently they include David and Karen O’Connor, USET Chef d’Equipe Mark Phillips, his wife Sandy Pflueger Phillips and international show jumper Sharn Wordley. With a relatively small string Clark has over 60 top 5 placings since 2008 of which over 30% of those were wins.

He has been a regular fixture on the USEF’s High Performance training lists since 2001 and was the recipient of a 2011 Land Rover USEF High Performance grant which funded his trip to compete at Blenheim Palace CCI*** in England.

2012 has been an exciting season for Clark as he and Glen were named to the short list for the London Olympic Games. While older more competitively experienced combinations ultimately were selected for the games, Clark and Glen took full advantage of their opportunities of being in England to train and compete for 6 weeks and are setting their sights on the Nations Cup competition at the Boekelo CCI3* in Holland this fall.
